There are times in a homeowner’s life when getting rid of clutter isn’t a household chore, but a mission to de-clutter life itself. At these times, a professional organizer and a roll-off dumpster could come in handy.
When a relative passes it might be better to just get rid of all the stuff they’ve collected in a lifetime, rather than becoming a prisoner of the past, says motivational life coach Gail Blanke, author of the book Throw Out Fifty Things.
“If ever there were a time to eliminate anything in our lives that weighs us down or holds us back – or just plain depresses us – it’s now,” Blanke wrote on her blog at throwoutfiftythings.com. “I can’t say it enough, you can’t grow if you don’t let go.”
Old photo albums, dusty boxes of moldy books and old papers and files, junk furniture, old clothes, children’s toys, dusty glasses and dishes – all of that junk that collects in basements and attics is of little value for anything but memories.
Sometimes, it’s better to just rent a dumpster and de-clutter your life.
